It was predicted by indigenous tribes in Africa that when the White Lions return to their sacred lands in Timbavati we would be in a time of evolutionary and spiritual awakening. On Christmas Day in the year 2000, Marah the White Lion was born, the first “way-shower” to arrive and help us awaken to our divine origins, when we were one with all life in Zep Tepi, the land of first time. Our spiritual warrior selves are being summoned to heal the separation between us and nature, to be the change agents of heart, as we evolve to a higher consciousness.

About the Authors

Carley Mattimore, MS, LCPC, is a spiritual midwife and psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience who offers shamanic psycho-spiritual workshops in the Midwest, the “Heartland”. She is co-founder, along with her husband John Malan, of the Aahara Spiritual Community of Venus Rising, a non-profit organization in Springfield, Illinois dedicated to personal and collective healing.

Carley's workshops include the Shamanic Healing Initiatory Process, Shamanic Warriorship Path, Shamanic Multi-dimensional Mystery School, Shamanic Breathwork and much more. Carley is also a therapeutic energy worker in the traditions of both Healing Touch and Shamanic, Usui and Tibetan Reiki.

Carley, has traveled to Africa many times, most recently leading spiritual tours to connect with this land of first time to remember our interdependence with nature and our origins. Her work is about the healing of our hearts and awakening the lion-hearted shamanic warrior within to bring transformation for our world. Carley is a graduate of the White Lion Leadership Academy and the Lion-hearted Leadership Practitioner training at the Global White Lion Protection Trust.

Her first book, Sacred Messengers of Shamanic Africa, co-authored with Linda Star Wolf, was inspired by her own personal journey of healing and her awakening to the bigger story of humanity at this turning of the Ages.

Linda Star Wolf, Ph.D., has been a shamanic visionary teacher and guide to thousands of people over the last four decades. Starting out as a therapist in the mental health and addictions fields in the 1980’s, Star Wolf was a nationally certified alcohol and drug counselor for 30+ years. She draws much of her wisdom from her personal experience of recovery and discovery from addictions.

The author of several books, Star Wolf is the creator of Shamanic Breathwork®, the Shamanic Healing Initiatory Process® (S.H.I.P.), the Founder of Venus Rising Association for Transformation (a non-profit organization), and Founding President of Venus Rising University for Shamanic Psychospiritual Studies. Star Wolf is also co-founder of the Shamanic Mystery Tours and guides spiritual seekers to travel as emissaries to sacred shamanic sites worldwide.

Dedicating her life to assisting soul seekers to release dysfunctional patterns and behaviors of all kinds to radically transform their lives, Star Wolf teaches how to embody the shaman within and step into a life of passionate soul purpose. Her commitment to sacred activism and visionary leadership led her to create the Shamanic Ministers Global Network and train Shamanic Breathwork Facilitators around the world.

Star Wolf was inspired by eastern yogis and breathwork luminaries Leonard Orr (founder of Rebirthing Breathwork), Stan Grof (founder of Holotropic Breathwork), and Jacquelyn Small (founder of Integrative Breathwork) and became a lead breathwork trainer at Eupsychia Institute.

Star Wolf has a deep connection to shamanic earth wisdom teachings originating from Indigenous elders. Twylah Nitsch, beloved Seneca Wolf Clan Grandmother, gave her the spirit name Star Wolf and adopted her as a Spiritual Granddaughter.
